Garmin confirms Android smartphone

Garmin has let the cat out of the bag, where they aim to further expand their portfolio to carry an Android-smartphone. There is still no official confirmation on when the Android-powered device will be making a bow apart from a date that hails from 2010. Since it has the Garmin name emblazoned on the future release, we can be pretty sure the navigational functions within work just as planned in order to live up to its brand name.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license
