Imation has officially started shipping what it dubs as “the world’s first Wireless USB external hard drive”, which is the Imation Pro WX Wireless USB Hard Drive. It’s basically a 1.5TB hard drive, which will connect to your computer via a special wireless USB connector. At $450, it’s certainly pricey, and the fact that you’ll need a special USB connector on your laptop somehow makes it seem less cool. That being said, you can’t fault Imation for trying to innovate.
