Folks who have been looking forward to the addition of iPlayer to the Xbox Live service are in for a little bit of disappointment. Apparently Microsoft is refusing to allow the iPlayer to be available to folks who are not on the Xbox Live Gold subscriber list. On the other hand, the BBC traditionally offers the universally free service as part of UK residents’ license fees. Considering that the iPlayer is already available free of charge for PS3 and Wii owners, this move probably won’t help Microsoft’s goodwill too much, will it?
