Nokia Slashes Jobs In R&D

While most people believe the economy is beginning to recover, some folks will probably still feel the effects of it, especially after Nokia announced that it would cut 330 jobs in its research and development group, which will be spread between an office in Oulu and Copenhagen. The cuts will represent just under 2 percent of its entire research team, so it’s not that big a hit, and Nokia says that it’s only meant to reflect the company’s “focused portfolio of future products”. Hopefully future Nokia phones will still be cool and innovative, and hopefully not affected by this round of job cuts.
