
An online store is a big thing thanks to the iTunes’ unprecedented success on a global scale, and Sony doesn’t want to lose out on this potentially lucrative market if executed rightly, having announced plans to roll out an online portal for music, movies, books and other content including applications. The new Sony Online Service is supposed to assist the company in hitting Apple where it hurts – iTunes. Hopefully they won’t introduce all the crap DRM and proprietary formats in the process.
