If you’re living in Alfriston, England, and experienced the loss of your landline phone service, this report will certainly pique your interest. Apparently this issue is thanked to the antics of some thieves, who actually went to all the effort to steal a half-mile length of underground copper tubing, thus causing the loss of said landline phone service for some 800 local residents and businesses. By accessing the cable through manholes, they stole an estimated cost of $75,000 worth of cable. How would you feel if you woke up in the morning and the phone and Internet services were down?
