VESA okays Mini DisplayPort standard

The VESA group have discussed among one another and come to an agreement of the Mini DisplayPort as a finalized standard. Also known as mDP in short, this Apple-developed connector will now be compatible with displays from other companies as long as they meet the DisplayPort 1.1a specifications. Chances are mDP will soon make its way into notebooks apart from the MacBook range, alongside a whole gamut of video cards.
