
Yuta Sugiura alongside his fellow colleagues at the Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, recently came up with a totally radical control scheme for robots and virtual characters, dubbing it Walky for the iPhone. You will of course need to own an iPhone in the first place, where the handset’s multitouch surface comes in handy to help guide your robot’s movements, where you can use it to control a range of movement including walking, turning, jumping, kicking and other – as long as your finger gestures continue to make their presence felt on the iPhone’s touchscreen display.
