Lackluster sales and Apple’s iPhone generally don’t go in the same sentence, but if reports online are accurate, the (official) iPhone isn’t doing too well in China. Apparently Taobao.com, the only site aside from China Unicom where customers can purchase official iPhone handsets, sold a total of 5 iPhones in the period of 2 weeks. Some folks attribute this the lack of Wi-Fi on the official iPhone in China, not to mention the fact that the iPhone can be purchased on the gray market in Hong Kong for cheaper.
