
Acer chairman JT Wang claims that ultra-thin notebooks with long battery-lives is where the industry is headed in the future of notebooks, and blames HP as well as Dell for spoiling this vision by lowering prices of their mainstream notebooks to a mere $399 in order to compete with the netbook market. What do you think of the pricing segments between notebooks and netbooks – are they cannibalizing sales of each other, or do you see two separate market niches?
