On paper it seems similar to the Square by Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey, so it will be interesting to see how they compete against each other, or perhaps complement each other. The additional hardware add on to your iPhone (or iPod) touch should turn your iPhone into a credit card terminal, which should help sales people who need to make transactions with customers who are on the road.
