If you feel that the Cowon V5 HD leak last week didn’t provide enough information on the device, the official announcement from Cowon today certainly will. One of the more interesting points of the device is that will be running WinCE 6.0, which does make you wonder if it’s possible to run most of your WinCE apps on it or not. The V5 HD will be released in South Korea on January 1st 2010, and will be going for 299,000 KRW (US $253) for the 8GB unit. Specifications of the Cowon V5 HD include:
- 4.8-inch touch screen TFT LCD
- 45-hour battery life for audio, 10-hour battery life for video
- Full HD H.264 playback
- HDMI output
- Available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants
- Powered by WinCE 6.0
