Remember the watershed moment in X-Men 2 where Magneto broke out of his plastic prison by floating around on a sheet of thin metal? Well, the Dynamic Ground kinetic floor works something like that, without requiring you to be a mutant at all. It is a mechanical garden which is smart enough to respond to your step, where each interconnected hexagon will be operated by a central motor that is hooked up to a light sensor. Whenever there is one who walks on the platform and cover the sensor, the design located at the bottom will expand or contract, according to its resting state. Pretty neat – would be a cool attraction at shopping malls and the ilk.
