Garmin certainly didn’t want the exit 2009 without any fanfare, and as such, the company has introduced 2 new Oregon GPS units, the Oregon 450 and 450t, which will be replacing the older 400 models. The newer units will feature a more visible and responsive touchscreen for its navigation, a more accurate 3-axis compass, and dashboards to customize the interface, faster USB connection and improved navigation of tracks that show upcoming elevation changes. The 450t has one over the 450 as it sports added coverage to include major US trails as well as roads, parks and other information that would be useful if you were driving or walking. Said devices should be good for up to 16 hours on a pair of AA batteries, so if you’re going to be on the road for long periods of time, be sure to prepare spares. There isn’t any information on shipping date or pricing just yet, so it seems that we’ll have to wait and see then.
