Gmail For Mobile Devices Gets Speed Increase

It’s certainly good to see that Google is always looking for ways to improve on their existing apps, and not just focus on coming out with newer products (though those are great too). The latest from the Google Mobile Blog reports that the Gmail team has managed to speed up the mobile site by about 2-3 times, which is certainly a significant and welcome speed boost. Take a gander at the graph above, and you’ll notice that loading times are shorter now. Apparently the new site will load on iPhone and Android devices in under 3 seconds. Do you use the Gmail mobile site on your cell phone, or do you use another way or checking your email?
