It appears as though Innolux has hit the motherlode with the panel-making subsidiary of the Foxconn Group being appointed as the initial supplier of touch panels for Apple’s upcoming tablet PC. This elevation of status sees Wintek being knocked to second position where suppliers are concerned, where it is partly due to Apple looking for other solutions to strengthen the glass of their 10″ panel, hence delaying the launch till Q1 2010. Looks like the board of directors at Foxconn will have plenty to smile and laugh about, knowing that Apple’s tablet PC will be more or less a smashing success worldwide.
