iRiver’s booth is definitely worth checking out at CES 2010, considering the fact that their Story e-reader device is tipped to be released Stateside sometime in Q1 next year. Those living overseas will have to pre-order theirs since the initial 2,000 stock sold out within a couple of days though, so tough luck on that. The iRiver Story will sport a 6″ e-ink display, a QWERTY keyboard, a variety of file formats supported (e-Pub, PDF, PPT, DOC and XLS), MP3 playback, 2GB internal memory, voice recording capability, a built-in personal organizer, USB 2.0 connectivity and a comics viewer crammed into a body that measures a mere 0.36″ high. When used normally, expect the iRiver Story to last up to 100 hours before requiring a recharge.
