Masamichi Hayashi, president of marine education establishment kyg-lab, certainly walks the talk by hand-crafting more than 100 robotic marine creatures using nothing but recycled items including plastic bottles, food containers, styrofoam, raincoats, and windshield wiper motors! This self-taught roboticist also pulled from his ocean of experience (pardon the pun) as a marine scientist, helping his machines achieve realistic movements. They currently see action in free shows for kids to learn about the motion and behavior of sea creatures.
