The talks at Japan Tsukuba University seem to have come up with a rather interesting device, a motorized knee to help people be more efficient at running. This motorized knee can be attached to a person’s body, after which it’ll help you by supporting the flexing of the knee, supposedly allowing the runner to use 30% less of the muscle power needed to run normally. The main downside is that the kit is about 5kg heavy, so you’ll still need to lug it around. This is supposed to be commercialized in the next 3-years, so keep an eye out for your chance to turn into Robocop.
