NewerTech’s latest release, the USB 2.0 Display Adapter will enable folks to throw in an extra HDMI, DVI, or VGA display to a Mac for expanded use. Each adapter has room for one more display, hitting a maximum resolution of 2,048 x 1,152 pixels. While Macs are able to host up to four adapters, Windows-powered machines can support up to a half dozen. This bus-powered adapter enables cloning and extended desktop modes, although you need to hook up the supplied secondary adapter if you want to connect VGA and HDMI monitors. Forget about OpenGL acceleration support though, which means affected programs will include Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie. Expect the NewerTech USB 2.0 Display Adapter to retail for $96.
