Nintendo patents Zii in Japan

Looks like Nintendo recently filed a trademark on October 30, 2009 for “Zii” in Japan, where it will cover video games and electronic devices. Apart from that, we have very little information about the patent. Seems as though the Zii could be the Wii 2, or it is very possible that Nintendo is just covering all grounds when it so that nobody comes up with a Wii clone and name it otherwise.
