Pen de Touch offers new way of interaction

The Pen de Touch is a prototype pen-shaped device which enables users to interact with virtual environments as though they were real. This is made possible considering the pen is a haptic display which relies on kinesthetic sensations on the user’s fingers in order to signal various virtual environments. For example, if the pen was located within a virtual box, the user will be able to feel the kinesthetic sensations whenever they hit the side of the box whenever the pen is moved. Apart from that, the device itself is an advance in haptic display as there are no restrictions for the user via mechanical linkages, resulting in a more accurate representation of tactile sensation.
