Are you intrigued by Swype’s input technology, and own an Android phone? Well, it seems that you’re in luck then. A beta release of Swype has been leaked online and seems to work on Android phones. Folks have tested it on phones such as the Motorola DROID and apparently it’s working just fine. Of course, if you’re going to give it a try, do remember that it’s not official software, so be sure to tread carefully and make sure you’ve backed up your data before hand.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
