Thanko claims to have released its first USB shortwave radio to the masses, where it picks up both AM and FM radio signals while letting you plug the device into a computer. Needless to say, the accompanying software will need to be installed before you are able to draw tunes from the ether. Radio shows and programs can also be saved in MP3 or WAV format when the situation calls for it – you just need to be extra alert, that’s all. Expect Thanko’s USB shortwave radio to retail for $44.73 after conversion.
