Folks who follow Twitter closely will certainly have noticed the recent DNS change on Twitter, which was the result of an attack from the “Iranian Cyber Army”. While the issue was noticed and fixed rather quickly, a deeper check into the incident reveals that a set of valid Twitter credentials were used to change the DNS settings and redirect surfers to the hacked site. With that in mind, it would certainly seem that someone inside of Twitter with the details leaked the information out, either that, or someone in the Iranian Cyber Army were good enough to get hold of the login credentials to Twitter’s account. Hopefully this kind of incident won’t happen again.
