EZQuest has just rolled out its Thunder Pro Triple Interface storage system which will target professional audio and video users, boasting multi-stream video playback support and real time effects. It comes with a couple of separate 7200 RPM SATA II hard drives, where cache buffers up to 16MB help maintain a speedy performance. Capable of holding up to 4TB of storage space, the Thunder Pro is equipped with a couple of FireWire 800 ports, one USB 2.0 port and one EZport FireWire 400 front-access port. Don’t worry about it overheating as drive temperature is regulated through its MagLev ultra-quiet Smart Fan and thermostat, so keep your ears peeled just in case the warning buzzer goes off to alert you of an overheating or fan failure. You will need Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher to play nice with the $530 Thunder Pro JBOD. Normal home users need not get something this high end though for a data backup solution as something more ordinart would suffice.
