FCC approves OLPC XO 1.5

The OLPC XO 1.5 has been making its rounds as secret leaked shots on the Internet for some time now, but it has finally received an endorsement from the FCC themselves, but unfortunately for the masses (that’s us), no details were revealed. We will just have to make do with what we have heard in the past – this includes a faster VIA C7-M processor and the possibility of an upgraded VX855 chipset for a more decent approach to 3D graphics and HD video. Doesn’t sound like much, and this could be the Windows ME of the OLPC XO (a stopgap measure just in case you didn’t get the reference), where the real meat in terms of upgrades would be the planned ARM-based OLPC XO 1.75. Ah well, we will have to wait and see.
