Google Social Search experiment graduated to beta status

Google’s Social Search experiment is being prepped to duke it out with the big boys, where it has now entered beta status. You will need to have a Google profile before being able to obtain results from Social Search, but this could very well be a double-edged sword depending on how you look at it. For the uninitiated, Social Search can add information and images from users’ public pages to the results of online searches conducted by members of their social network. Having said that, it is always good to err on the side of caution whenever you post something online, especially details about yourself as you never know when one crazy moment for the world to see/read about might actually cost you a future job as your potential employers go through your online persona. In essence, Social Search makes it a whole lot easier to find relevant information from your social circle.
