Green Noise harnesses power of sound

Check out the Green Noise concept – this green and eco-friendly device will aim to harness the power of sound, converting it into electricity afterwards. Basically, thsi device traps and converts sound energy to electricity that will power runway lights at airports. In order to do this, designer Hung-Uei Jou came up with a conical speaker form factor in order to remain functional even when exposed to the elements round-the-clock all year long, while having its modular structure stand on a tripod base is a brilliant move for easy maintenance. Would be interesting to know just how efficient converting sound to electricity is.
