Verizon Wireless has started to push out the over-the-air (OTA) updates for its Droid Eris smartphone from today. The update has 8 software fixes which are designed to improve performance. The updates will be sent out in phases, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your phone. You’ll get an alert of the incoming update, and will be prompted to accept the download. One of the problems this update will solve is your Droid Eris will now be able to open picture messages from LG phones, as well as improving SMS and MMS messaging delivery.
