Philips’ latest portable media player, the SA075 has finally gotten its list of specifications out, and here are the most important ones that you ought to take notice of. You get a glossy 4.3″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, so make sure there’s plenty of Windex nearby to get rid of crummy prints at the end of each day, while it will come with a microSD memory card slot and a choice of 8GB or 16GB capacity. Apart from that, the Philips SA075 is also capable of handling all the popular audio/video file formats ranging from MP3 to WAV, APE, FLAC, OGG, AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, RMVB, FLV and XVID. Additional functions are as expected with any decent portable media players, and these include voice recording capability, an e-book reader and FM radio. Expect the 8GB and 16GB models to retail for around $161 and $190 (after conversion), respectively, if they ever make it Stateside. Definitely not a game changer, but is a decent alternative if you aren’t looking for anything from Cupertino.
