When will Windows Mobile 7 be released? It’s going to be hard to guess, but folks have been speculating that there will be an announcement during the upcoming Mobile World Congress, and there is a possibility that it might be released at the end of 2010. That being said, the apparent minimum specs required for phones which plan to run Windows Mobile have started floating around the Internet, so we feel obliged to post it here. Judging from the requirements, though, it certainly seems like Windows Mobile 7 phones are going to be high-end ones, since the mid-range or low-range phones that are currently on the market certainly don’t match up to those specs. So maybe there is some truth to the whispers that Microsoft will be keeping Windows Mobile 6.5 alive for the moment. The (rumored) minimum requirements of Windows Mobile 7 are:
- 1GHz processor
- 3.6 inch WVGA display
- G-sensor and compass
- 8GB of onboard memory
- 5-megapixel camera
