Windows 7 has gotten off to a better than expected start, but what is this news we hear about Microsoft’s roadmap showing Windows 8 being slated for a July 1st, 2011 release? Following that, it seems that Windows Server 2012 and Office 2012 is ready to ship a year and a day later – for the mathematically challenged, that would be July 2nd, 2012. Should this be true, it would be an extremely rare ocassion considering Microsoft rarely time their significant upgrades that close within a release date. What do you think – would this affect your purchase decision for Windows 7, or would you rather wait until Windows 8 comes out?
