Acer says no to tablet release

Acer goes against the grain by not jumping aboard the tablet bandwagon in order to go up head-to-head against the Apple iPad and its ilk, but will prefer to spend their energy and focus on ultra-thin laptops instead. According to Acer, these ultra-thin laptops will see Google’s Chrome OS as the main operating system of choice for majority of their releases, asserting that an iPad-like tablet “would not pose any technical challenges for Acer.” Acer also maintained that the tablet design doesn’t fit into their business model at the moment as well. Would Steve Jobs also call BS on this Acer call like he did to Google? And you thought that the man himself would not be that easily riled.
