Amazon rolls out Kindle App for BlackBerry

Amazon has just released a brand new Kindle application for BlackBerry which will enable customers to purchase as well as read e-books on their smartphones. This application is similar to the company’s application for both the iPhone and iPod touch, and for folks who already own the Kindle, one is able to synchronize the BlackBerry application with it, letting you continue reading where you last left off regardless of which device you use to read. This free download will support only newer BlackBerry models (Curve 8520 and 8900, Tour 9630, Bold 9000 and 9700, and Storm 9500, 9530, and 9550). Apart from that, Kindle is also working on a Mac and iPad (!) version of Kindle – it would be interesting to see what Apple has to say about their iPad competitor’s app though.
