Apple hopes to get iPhone OS aboard new gadgets

Apple seems to have big plans for their iPhone OS, where the company hopes to see this operating system make its way to a wide range of gadgets, devices and platforms. This is derived from a job posting from Apple that points toward an engineering manager to handle “platform bring-up”, and this person is able “to lead a team focused on bring-up of iPhone OS on new platforms.” What do you think of Apple’s endeavors to proliferate the iPhone OS across all platforms?
