Apple increases 3G download cap

Good news for folks who tend to do a whole lot of downloading on the App Store via 3G – Apple has just doubled the cap, where it will now max out at 20MB over the previous 10MB limit. This translates to users being able to grab larger apps compared to previously whenever they do not have a Wi-Fi connection to rely on. This will definitely increase congestion on wireless data networks, and it will be interesting to see whether AT&T’s 3G network will be impacted or not – and this is even before the iPad hits the market later this year.
