[MWC 2010] Aptina has just come up with its new MT9F011 mobile camera image sensor, where it will offer full HD video (1080p/60fps) for high-end cellphones. This 14-megapixel, 1.4-micron mobile camera image sensor was specially designed to improve video performance, offering higher sensitivity for high-frame rates as well as reduced structured noise for clean low-light video. Among the pre-processing options and features include low power consumption, a four-lane MIPI data interface (which can be configured as single, dual or quad lane), Bayer resample for improved video, 1/2.3” optical format, and 25 degree chief ray angle in order to minimize module height. While samples of the MT9F011 are already available, mass production is expected to be achieved sometime in the second quarter of this year. [Press Release]
