Archos has couple of Android-powered tablets in the pipeline

Archos has two tablet devices that will run on the Android operating system, where they will see action in Germany at the CeBIT show, touting both models to be “good value Android Tablets that are specially designed for use in the home”. Sounds promising, but then again which company would disparage their own products before launch? It would be interesting to see whether these are able to remotely challenge the iPad’s perceived superiority, although a failure of either (or both) devices would not signal the death knell of Archos.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license
