Google Chrome OS To Support Touch Input?

With the recent surge in popularity of tablet devices and touchscreen input, many folks are questioning whether Google’s Chrome OS will sport touch support. While some people may say that we’re reading too much into it, apparently Google’s Senior Product Manager of Search looked nervously at a PR manager before failing to provide a concrete answer, when questioned about touch support in the OS. Is that a confirmed “yes”? Definitely not, but if he’s trying to dodge the question, maybe he knows something that we shouldn’t know, right? If Google’s Chrome OS supports touch input, it’ll be very interesting to see how it matches up with the slew of tablet devices, most notably Apple’s iPad, and how it will affect Google’s own Android OS, which is fast becoming the OS of choice for mobile devices.
