Intel has decided to update their line of Pine Trail Atom processors, where these new ones will come into existence sometime in Q3 this year. Unlike other updates that more often than not includes changes in aspects such as speed, power consumption and overall performance, this one takes a totally different route by including DDR3 RAM support. Compared to current Atom systems, the N450 and N470 chips can only handle DDR2 RAM. This ought to see a jump in performance for future netbooks that carry such update Pine Trail processors, where solid benchmark figures will give us a better idea then. If you aren’t in a hurry to purchase a netbook, then you might want to hold out until Q3 2010 rolls around.
