Netbooks that are powered by the Pine Trail processor (Pine Trail is the latest version of the Intel Atom processor line) are now able to handle 1080p HD video playback with aplomb when they’re running on the Jolicloud operating system. Apart from that, this update will also enable NVIDIA ION graphics, GMA 500 graphics and VIA C7-M processors as well. In a nutshell, supported 1080p HD video includes DivX, XviD alongside other MPEG4-based codecs save for H.264. As for 720p HD video, H.264 ought to play smoothly without a cinch. This update will be made available to Jolicloud users within the next couple of weeks.
