LG Display receives Microsoft Windows 7 Touch Logo certification

LG Display is first off the blocks among all the other hardware manufacturers to pick up Microsoft’s Windows 7 Touch Logo certification, thanks to its 13.3″ Capacitive In-Cell Multi-Touch LCD panel which targets noetbooks. It is different from your ordinary touchscreen products, since touch sensors are built into the display itself, making it useful for notebooks which are used outdoors frequently since light reflection and brightness declines are eliminated from the process. Mass production of the panel is expected to roll out in the second half of the year.

LG: LG Corporation is a South Korean conglomerate that is based in Seoul. LG operates a number of subsidiaries including LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Telecom, and LG Chem. The conglomerate specializes in developing electronics, telecom products, and chemicals. LG Corp. was founded in 1947 by Koo In-Hwoi. Koo first established Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. in 1947. Today, Lak-Hui (pronounced lucky) is known as LG Chem. The company then expanded its business and created Goldstar Co. Ltd, now known as LG Electronics Inc. Both companies merged and formed Lucky-Goldstar, which was eventually renamed “LG” in 1995.

Microsoft: Microsoft is the company behind software like Windows, Microsoft Office and hardware like the Xbox and Kinect. The company was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. MS-DOS was the product that propelled Microsoft towards success, but it is Windows and Office that made it what it is today. Microsoft is currently engaged in a number of projects, including Windows 8, Windows Phone, Xbox, Office and the Azure cloud computing platform. the large majority of desktop computers run on Windows.
