Mitsubishi has managed to work on a brand new upscaling algorithm and software which is capable of transforming full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution images into a 4K x 2K resolution image. Apparently, this wondrous technology plays nice with the new 1.4 HDMI connections and standards, but there is a downside to it – Mitsubishi still has trouble trying to make the software compatible with the Blu-ray format. No idea on whether the completed technology will see action in Mitsubishi’s range of projectors, HDTVs or both down the road though.
