Motorola Droid not getting Android 2.1 update this week

Looks like Motorola’s Droid won’t be picking up the Android 2.1 update anytime this week as expected by many, especially after the buzz surrounding Motorola’s official Facebook page showing off a post that heralded the Android 2.1 update for the Droid. Matt, forums manager at Motorola, claimed that the information was “prematurely released”, so we guess you will just have to wait a little bit longer (or not) until Motorola gets their act together.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
