New Battery Technology To Improve Lithium-ion Battery Life

Are you, like most of us, dissatisfied with the current battery technology? After all, nobody likes their gadgets/computer running out of juice. A Japanese company, Eamex, claims that it has found a way to sort out the current issues we’re having with lithium-ion batteries. With its new technology, the batteries will be able to be charged and discharged over 10,000 times, and the best part is that they can last a good 20 years.

The main reason that batteries deteriorate is because the binding between particles in the tin-coated resin, which is an integral component of the battery, begins to weaken, but Eamex’s technology will maintain the bonding between those particles. With that in mind, the company is planning to introduce a lithium-ion battery with a power density of 10,000W/kg by the end of the year, which is good enough to power electric scooters. Will this technology make it to cell phones and laptops? If it gives our gadgets a nice boost in battery life, we certainly hope so.
