Opus Microsystems open talks with Sony

Opus Microsystems and Sony could come together in the future, with the latter having plans to design an in-house pico-projector module that should see action in digital still cameras thanks to Opus’ scanning mirror chips. If that collaboration comes to fruition, then we could see yet another option of viewing the collection of snapped photos on a display which is much larger than the integrated LCD panels in digital cameras without having to hook up your device to a TV. Such a development is interesting, but we hope that battery technology will be able to keep up, otherwise you will find that using the projector often will see your camera’s power supply drained faster than Usain Bolt completesa 200m race.
