In what is probably not the best revelation from Sony, it seems that the company still takes a loss on every Playstation 3 (PS3) sold. While rumors have suggested that Sony has started to make some profit on the sales of the PS3, according to the Wall Street Journal, Sony loses about 6 cents for every dollar of the PS3 hardware sales. Sony is already looking to address this by attempting to reduce the PS3 production cost by 15% by March 2011, so we’ll have to see how that works out. Of course, the bright side to this bit of news is that the Playstation 3 sales were up by a good 44% year-on-year.
