Just when you thought that home phones are all but extinct these days, along comes DSP Group with a new cordless home phone that boasts the functionalities of an interactive multimedia handset. Powered by the Android OS, this handset is equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen display and a virtual keyboard to get you started, letting you access a wide range of Android apps right from the comfort of your own home. Neat, but we don’t think it will usher in a renaissance of home phones anytime soon.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
