Google Voice on Android has received a little boost in terms of notification speed. Before this, users would receive notifications of new messages in their inbox within 15 minutes of when they were sent. Now with the latest feature from Google, Inbox synchronization, Android powered devices can be notified of new text messages or voicemail within seconds of receiving new messages in your Google Voice inbox. Google Voice will even automatically disable SMS forwarding to your mobile phone when you go down this path, ensuring that you won’t receive duplicate notifications. The updated application is currently available in the Android Market and is currently only available in the U.S. only.
